We are Detroit's Social Work School. Our campus is located in the heart of midtown Detroit, allowing you to be an active member of the community you seek to serve by providing a unique mix of education, research and community engagement you can't get anywhere else in the country. WSU offers Michigan’s first asynchronous online MSW program. Both in-person and online formats provide an urban learning training experience to ensure you are ready to successfully transition from the classroom to community upon graduation. You can also choose between seven focal areas to tailor your education to your career goals. We even offer Dual-title and Joint-degree options to further customize your degree.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

Applicants can apply for Core (fall term start) or Advanced Standing (spring/summer term start). Core is for students who have a non-social work undergraduate degree or a BSW earned prior to 5 years. Advanced Standing is for students who have earned a BSW degree within the last 5 years from a CSWE accredited school. All applicants are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible as admissions will close once program capacity has been reached. Applications may be submitted up to one year prior to the start of the beginning term of the program. Thus, applicants are strongly encouraged to apply and submit all application materials as early as possible. Earlier admission is best for scholarship eligibility, practicum placement and course section availability.
